EXPERIENCIA RELIGIOSA


Nashville was the location chosen for the filming of Enrique Iglesias’ second music video, EXPERIENCIA RELIGIOSA. The story is completely different from that of his first video, but the two do have something in common: model Lori Herber, the 18-year-old North American who accompanied Enrique in Manhattan during the filming of Si Tu Te Vas.The young Spanish singer, who in just three months has become number one in such diverse countries as Mexico, the United States, and Spain, was much more relaxed in front of the cameras in this production. The video, filmed during three days, contains various romantic scenes that show off Enrique’s acting skills. In this video, Lori Herber is dressed as a bride at her wedding. Enrique is not the groom; however, it is obvious from the looks the bride and Enrique give each other during the wedding ceremony that they do have feelings for one another. After the wedding, the bride makes the unfortunate discovery that she has married the wrong man, but there is a happy ending when she is reunited with her true love, Enrique. According to Iglesias, Experiencia Religiosa "is a song about love for God, love for one’s neighbor, and for one’s partner..."
Much of the song is sung inside a temple, which was in reality a giant movie studio, adapted through the miracles of cinematography. ”In addition to being a great singer, Enrique is also a great actor. All of his expressions and movements are natural,” said Jon Small, the veteran North American director who also did Enrique’s first video. One attention-drawing scene from the video is when Enrique and Lori are in a stable where the rain is coming in and they end up rolling in the mud. "This scene is very original. I don’t think it will cause negative reactions because it’s a relationship without malice. I really enjoyed filming it and I think Lori did, too. She is something special, not only in my career, but also among the people who know me," said Enrique Iglesias while he was on his way to the shower in the studio, like a soccer player who had just finished playing a game during a torrential downpour. Without a doubt, this scene will provoke commentaries.
The main idea of the video was conceived by Enrique himself and his manager, Fernán Martínez, after long conversations on airplanes and in airports while they traveled from country to country during one of the most intense promotional tours ever done by any new Hispanic artist. When asked why he chose to work with the same model again, knowing full well that many agencies and representatives were interested in introducing him to other models from different countries, Enrique said: “We chose Lori because she is a special girl. She has an exotic beauty that is also very natural. She is a person who makes you believe what she’s doing. She doesn’t overact. Everything about her is spontaneous, from her hair to her smile. Also, in the personal area, she is a charming girl."
Enrique denies that there is anything more than a professional relationship between Lori and him, but both on and off camera, they are affectionate, get along well, and are always smiling. Lori’s mother accompanied her to Nashville and visited several country music stores in the Tennessee capital, which is the Mecca of country music.
